How could we eliminate inconsistency and inaccessibility? Overcome limitations to understanding and tackle low levels of engagement? Check out how we did it for PepsiCo here…
The challenge
PepsiCo, as one of the largest food and beverage suppliers in the world, confronted us with a distinctly unique challenge.
Distributing products through over 15,000 frontline salespeople, and in over 200 countries and territories, PepsiCo came to Red Mirror with the need to develop an eLearning solution for sales training that had previously been difficult to implement.
The problems we needed to solve included:
- Replace existing training procedures that were inconsistent, expensive and even inaccessible to some
- Overcome limitations in understand training materials, (through both language and culture barriers) that were causing confusion throughout the salesforce
- Tackle low levels of engagement in training to encourage increased involvement and understanding
The solution
In order to meet the requirements of the project, Red Mirror first needed to design an eLearning narrative that would help the learner to work their way through the course. Implementing key principles of UX, we were keen to put together an experience that would be simple to use; wherever the learner might be based.
Through close coordination with PepsiCo, we developed a platform for their training materials that they could roll out world-wide in the knowledge that it was reliable and effective.
Also a top-priority, we endeavoured to create a form of eLearning that would be engaging and fun for the learner. We met this requirement through the development of an exciting interactive game that incorporated key PepsiCo facts in an assessment fashion, so that learner progression may be tracked.
The outcome
The finished product has not only met, but surpassed PepsiCo project goals.
The eLearning piece is now being readied to train salespeople all over the world, and work is soon to begin on future complimentary modules.
